Staff and residents at Norfolk Court Supported Living, a residential home in Antrim for people recovering from mental illness, are celebrating after winning the overall title in the 2009 SuperValu Best Kept Health and Social Care Facility Awards.

The prestigious environmental awards are organised annually by the Northern Ireland Amenity Council (NIAC) and sponsored by SuperValu.

Norfolk Court, which is operated by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust, has been named the ‘Best of the Best’ out of a shortlist of fifteen facilities – winners in three categories in each of the five Health Trust regions.

The three award categories are for the Best Kept Day Care Facilities, Best Kept Residential Facilities and Best Kept Healthcare Facilities. NIAC judges inspected facilities for tidiness, cleanliness and environmental enhancement.

Norfolk Court received a monetary donation and a special framed certificate as the overall winner. All category winners receive a personalized sign, a perpetual trophy and a monetary award towards future projects.
