This festive season Derrykeeran Nurseries, Portadown have announced they will supply SuperValu and Centra stores with 20 tonnes of sprouts.

Musgrave Retail Partners, who supply SuperValu and Centra stores have chosen one grower this year underlining their sourcing local policy and continuing their support of local suppliers.  Grower Pat Smith will grow and package almost 1.5m ‘own brand’ sprouts to the 121 stores across Northern Ireland to meet the demand for this ‘love it or hate it’ vegetable.

Patrick Smith, owner of Derrykeeran Nurseries said “We are delighted to be working with Musgrave again and proud to be a little bit of everyone’s Christmas.  This year we have seen an increase of 37% in the amount of sprouts being bought by Musgrave.  They have helped us develop a packaging plant which adds value to our product and improves what we can provide the stores.”
